Introducing Remoto: a new tool built for interpreters

by | Jul 1, 2026 | Interpreting, ProZ Platform & Features | 0 comments

We’re excited to announce the launch of Remoto, a new platform from ProZ, designed to help interpreters offer, manage, and grow their services online.

Whether you’re taking scheduled assignments, accepting on-demand calls, or building long-term relationships with your own clients, Remoto is designed to give you the tools you need to work more efficiently while maintaining control over your business.

Offer both scheduled and on-demand services

With Remoto, you can offer interpreting services through your own professional profile.

You decide how you want to work.

Set your rates, define your availability, and allow clients to either:

  • Schedule sessions in advance
  • Contact you immediately whenever you’re online

You can even configure different rates for different language pairs, helping you tailor your services to your expertise and market.

And most importantly, Remoto follows the same philosophy that has guided ProZ for more than two decades:

Your clients are your clients.

Remoto is not designed to stand between you and the people who hire you. It’s designed to make it easier for you to work together.

Spend less time on administration

Many interpreters spend a surprising amount of time on tasks that have nothing to do with interpreting.

Sending invoices. Following up on payments. Processing credit cards. Managing cancellations. Handling billing questions.

Remoto helps simplify those tasks by handling:

  • Credit card processing
  • Client billing
  • Invoicing
  • Payment collection
  • Tax handling where applicable
  • Cancellation protection

When a client books and pays through Remoto, you don’t have to chase payments or manage billing conversations. The platform handles those administrative processes for you, allowing you to focus on your work.

Start with the clients you already have

You can start benefiting from this new platform today.

Once your Remoto profile is set up, you can share it directly with existing clients, include it in your email signature, add it to your website, or post it on social media. Your clients can then find you through the platform, book your services, and connect with you using Remoto‘s infrastructure. They will be able to book you, call you whenever you are available, and pay in just a few clicks, making sure you get your payment as soon as the call ends.

If you’re active on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or other social networks, consider sharing your Remoto profile with your followers and professional contacts. The strongest marketplaces are built by professionals who bring both their expertise and their networks. By inviting your existing clients to Remoto, you’re helping build a platform that benefits everyone.

How to get started

Getting started is simple. Head to proz.com/remoto, and sign in using your ProZ credentials. Much of your profile information will already be there.

Next:

  1. Review your profile information.
  2. Configure your language pairs and rates.
  3. Set your availability.

If you’re already a verified ProZ interpreter, your verification status will be imported automatically. If you’re not yet verified, we’ll ask you to submit a few documents so we can verify your qualifications.

Once that’s done, you’re ready to start using Remoto.

Then, you will be able to share your profile with your clients, add it to your website and social media profiles, and include it in your email signature.

And, whenever you’re available to accept immediate calls —even if you are working for another platform at the same time— make sure your status is set to online. The more interpreters who make themselves available, the stronger the platform becomes —and the easier it will be to expand on-demand opportunities in the future.

Pro bono interpreting opportunities coming soon

We’re also excited to announce that pro bono interpreting opportunities will soon be available through Remoto.

Through the ProZ Pro Bono program, interpreters will have opportunities to support nonprofit organizations, humanitarian efforts, and other causes that rely on language access to serve their communities.

If you’re already a ProZ Pro Bono interpreter, make sure you’ve created your Remoto profile and completed your setup so you’ll be ready when these opportunities become available.

If you’re not yet part of the ProZ Pro Bono program, we encourage you to learn more and apply at prozprobono.world.

Language access can make a real difference in people’s lives, and we’re looking forward to bringing those opportunities to the platform.

Help shape the future of Remoto

Because Remoto is still in its early stages, feedback from interpreters is especially valuable.

What’s working well? What could be improved? What features would make the platform more useful for your workflow?

Whether you’ve already completed your profile, tested the platform, or simply explored its features, we’d love to hear your thoughts.

Please take a few minutes to complete our feedback form and tell us about your experience. Your feedback will directly influence future development and help us prioritize improvements that matter most to interpreters.

Join us live tomorrow

We’re also inviting interpreters to join us tomorrow, July 2nd, at 13 GMT, for a live networking event.

We’ll discuss the state of the interpreting industry, share updates on Remoto, answer questions, gather feedback, and connect with interpreters from around the world.

Whether you’ve already joined Remoto, are curious about the platform, or simply want to connect with fellow interpreters, we’d love to see you there.

This is an opportunity to share your ideas, hear what others are saying, and help shape the future of the platform.

We’re excited to build this platform together, and look forward to seeing what the interpreting community does with it!
